Greetings! One perfect love.
I'm Naeemah Afi Patterson and this is my website! Thank you for stopping by. There's A LOT here, so click around and see what catches you.
I aim to help you access the reality of health and abundance through the infinite intelligence in formless substance, while mutually expanding our capacity, having fun and building community. That's HIPHOP ;)

A quick glimpse...
My mother named me Naeemah after one of, jazz saxophonist, John Coltrane's (Trane) most well-known and beloved songs. Naima, eponymous for Trane's 1st wife, was conceived and born in Philadelphia, PA like I was. My mother chose the phonetic spelling for her mother's ease. Naeemah (Naima) means graceful, timeless, benevolent, and soft (like a rabbit's fur). The story of my name is one of the first things I remember learning, and it has surely shaped me each day since November 3, 1975.
Patterson is my mother's patrilineal family name chosen by her great-great-grandfather upon successfully escaping enslavement with his wife and children. Until naming my eldest sun, I was the last of this bloodline with the name. Patterson represents all the flyness and choice of everything in life. It is at once savvy and style, synchronicity, sex, and sass, sustenance and strategy, smart and seminal.
Stick with me and you'll see what I mean. During the 2 semesters I spent in an MBA program, I learned that my first and last names abbreviate to the acronym for net profit after taxes--NPAT. Such an apropos way to sum-up me up.
Each element of my origin story has always subconsciously informed how I present and move through life. I look forward to elaborating and exploring it all here with you.
As a conduit and strategist, I love to help individuals and organizations with overall direction towards maximizing opportunities and partnerships. I love making connections that help people achieve their dreams and goals. I am a great coach and somehow often find myself reluctantly managing something--a team, a project, an event, a situation... It is an honor to bring my broadly intersectional wealth of lived experience, knowledge, insight, and HLNs* to teams and individuals. Workwise, I am a freelancer and entrepreneur who has worked in the areas of arts administration and artist support, natural product sales and marketing, plant-based nutrition and wellness, hospitality, and birth-work. I have been project assistant to the Director of Community Murals at Mural Arts Philadelphia, Partnership Director for GrassROOTS Community Foundation, owner/curator at the former S.O.N. A.R.T. Gallery and GiftShop, Marketing Manager at biologics company, Plasma Solutions, and sooo much more! Whew! In 2023 I became a Perinatal Community Healthcare Worker doula and lactation peer counselor, and in early 2024 I became a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) and PA state certified doula. I have attended 12+ births so far and I have officially supported about 20 families including hospital, birth center, water, and homebirths.
I love to travel, and am happy to support people, businesses, and orgs everywhere!
I am a lifelong (minus a few years) NW Philadelphia resident, with deep roots in Pennsylvania, NYC/LI, and East Texas. I am an only child, Scorpio sun/moon daughter of a free, beautiful and patient Scorpio sun/moon mother. I have 5 grown-ish children: 3 birthed at home and twins born at a hospital while I defied an alleged court ordered surgical birth (C-section). I practiced child-led breastfeeding for 10 years straight and have 27+ years of experience in natural and attachment parenting, unschooling, and engaged community work. Now that I am on the cusp of empty nesting, I finally have the time and wherewithal to share the wealth of knowledge, insights, anecdotes, and resources I have gathered along my amazing journey.
This platform is the convergence of my life, my work, and my loves--a creative outlet for me that I hope many will find useful and actually use.
Oh, and I am the sole designer and content creator for this website (via Wix) unless otherwise noted. All rights reserved.
Thanks for coming. Thanks even more for staying to visit, shop, and engage. One perfect love.
